Where do you go if you’re on a midnight starving? You are craving for some comfort food, but not a fast food, in a place where you could just hang out for hours, enjoying the city life in the evening. My favorite place with Bart is to go have Nasi Jinggo in Denpasar or at this particular place near our house in Jimbaran. Nasi Jinggo is a steam rice wrapped in banana leaf that makes it fragrant, with a little dish and that! This type of ‘Nasi’ seems to be popular in several cities in the country. In Yogyakarta they call it Nasi Kucing (cat rice?) or Nasi Koboi (Cowboy Rice!), in Solo it’s called Nasi Bandeng.
Jinggo Jinggo! HUGGHHH!).

The Payangan Hideaway, Ubud – Back to Nature + Culinary Experience + Relax
Things have been pretty hectic at work lately, I was handling a new business opportunity, no time to write a blog, not even in the mood to do so. The daily tight schedule sucked up my time and energy, resulted to a stressful life. I desperately needed an escape, a getaway from routines that could make me crazy sometimes.

On my Java road trip expedition last year, Bart and I were excited to find ourselves not only on a journey in our black velvet car :) but also in a gastronomy expedition throughout several Java cities we passed in and by : Situbondo, Probolinggo, Madiun, Solo, Yogyakarta, Purwokerto, last but not least : BANDUNG – the eat & shop till you drop town.

On Raya Pemogan street, Denpasar, not too far from By Pass street, toward Sanur, after passing MITRA 10, there is one favorite place to enjoy all the noodle dishes, called BAKMIE KITA (litteraly translasted to ‘our noodle” :) ). Actually on the same street, I have two other favorite eating places, they are NASI HOT (located on the same building with Golden Grafika Printing House) and SATE GUAN ‘by Uncle Guan’- both have been featured here.
Di Jalan Raya Pemogan, Denpasar, nggak jauh dari jalan by pass menuju Sanur, lewatin MITRA 10, ada satu tempat makan bakmie dan kawan-kawan fovorit saya, namanya BAKMIE KITA (bener kan, kalo diterjemahin ke bahasa nginggris jadi ‘our noodle‘). Sebenernya di Jl.Pemogan ini 2 tempat makan murmer tapi asik buat saya, yaitu NASI HOT yang satu tempat sama percetakan Golden Grafika, dan Sate Guan-nya Om Guan.

Usually Tuna satay is made from its crushed meat, winded to its bamboo or coconut stick. But Sate Guan is a bit different. They cut the meat in cube pieces, so you will think it’s like eating chicken satay, with larger bite of meat.
Not many people knows this place yet, probably because it’s location at a non-touristy place in Denpasar, right at the traffic light of Jl. Raya Pemogan,
Raya Pemogan,
